Cross border employment in Malaysia workshop for the Singapore Business Federation

Our Managing Partner, Fuzet Farid was graciously invited by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) as a trainer to present at a workshop entitled: "Cross-Border Employment in Malaysia". The half day workshop was held at SBF Center, Singapore today with 20 participants.

The workshop was targeted to Singapore companies seeking to incorporate subsidiaries and hire employees in Malaysia.

The presentation touched on Malaysian employment law in general and recent amendments, employment of foreign secondees and the way forward of the industry under the new Malaysian government.

We take this opportunity to thank SBF for the invitation and we hope all participants acquired practical and useful information from the workshop.

Schuman Business Talk with Marcus Wallenberg

Our Fuzet Farid was invited to attend the inaugural edition of the Schuman Business Talk series jointly organised by the European Chamber of Commerce, Singapore (EuroCham) and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, Singapore (SwedCham) on 3 July 2018 held at Nanyang Technology University LTC School of Medicine, Singapore.

The guest speaker was Marcus Wellenberg, a prominent Swedish industrialist and banker.

The Schuman Business Talk series aims to invite prominent European business leaders to speak and inspire in relation to different industries.

SCMA 2018 AGM and Members Night

Our Fuzet Farid attended the 2018 Annual General Meeting and Members Night of the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA) on 20 June 2018 held at Maxwell Chambers and 1864 the Bar at Sofitel Singapore City Centre.

Our Fuzet Farid is a member of the SCMA since March 2015.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri lunch at Vasco's KL Hilton

During the long Hari Raya Aidilfitri weekend that took place, Messrs Fuzet Farid hosted a Hari Raya gathering at Hilton Kuala Lumpur in Vasco's Restaurant on 17 June 2018.

Our closest family and friends were treated to a special Hari Raya and Father's day buffet spread. The celebration was well attended by 71 guests.

The guests also had fun at a caricature booth set up by Vasco's.

Messrs Fuzet Farid take this opportunity to wish our family and friends a Happy Eid Mubarak. May this Eid bring peace, happiness and prosperity to all.

Coffee with Vice President of WISTA Bermuda

WISTA Singapore: #UnlockingAsia Spring Conference 2018

Our Managing Partner, Fuzet Farid, accompanied by our Senior Associate, Jiradevi Veerasiman, attended the Women’s International and Trading Association (WISTA) #UnlockingAsia Spring Conference 2018. The conference was held at the Hotel Fort Canning in Singapore on Thursday, 10 May 2018.

WISTA International aims to group together women working in maritime, trading, and logistics sectors. WISTA was formed in 1974 in Sweden and now has more than 40 national WISTA associations worldwide.  

Fuzet is an active WISTA member and frequently attends WISTA events in Singapore. The team at Messrs Fuzet Farid takes this opportunity to congratulate WISTA Singapore for organising a successful conference which also celebrates 20 years of the establishment of WISTA Singapore. It is hoped that WISTA Malaysia will be established in the near future.
